BioChem Oss, The Netherlands
BioChem Oss has a proud history of 100 years in producing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients. The origins date back to 1923, when the owner of a slaughterhouse initiated the extraction of animal pancreases for use in the production of insulin – at that time Organon. Some decades later, in 1948, the production of Heparin started.
Operations have gradually expanded, today BioChem Oss is recognized as a reliable global supplier and one of the world’s best-known manufacturers of Heparin Sodium API with the capabilities to develop and produce other BioChemical APIs.
Diosynth / Organon was acquired by Schering-Plough in 2007, followed by a merger of Schering-Plough and MSD (Merck in the US) in 2009. The API activities subsequently became part of the Aspen Group in 2013. BioChem Oss is a 100% subsidiary of the Aspen Group.
